Here at KUNGFU.AI, we believe in the power of giving back and on this Giving Tuesday, we wanted to highlight five organizations that are near and dear to us. We invite you to join us in giving to these organizations, whether it be a monetary donation, time volunteering, or even additional visibility.
African-American Leadership Institute
The African American Leadership Institute (AALI) is designed to enhance civic awareness and leadership opportunities to make an innovative community impact on Central Texas. AALI participants will have opportunities to make connections to affect long-term action required to create equity, opportunity, and a higher quality of life for all of Austin’s citizens. It will also engage corporations to explore policy, process, and cultural aspects that can improve their ability to attract, equip, retain, and promote more Black professionals.
AALI is currently looking for strategic sponsors and partners. To inquire about becoming a sponsor, visit their site here.
MEASURE was founded in 2015 by Jameila “Meme” Styles when she challenged the Austin Police Department to “show me the numbers” they were using to report the results of agency performance measures. Realizing the disconnect between the department’s big data reporting and the community, Ms. Styles was prompted to create a methodology to measure community policing.
Today the organization has grown to not only address community policing but health, education and economic disparities. Data is not used effectively or collaboratively in the social justice ecosystem. MEASURE works to empower people impacted by data disparities and the accompanying narrative.
If you would like to donate to or volunteer with MEASURE, you can do so here.
The Central Texas Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief charity in Central Texas. The commitment from private, government and charitable partners allowed the Central Texas Food Bank to bring nearly 54 million meals to our community last year and into the hands of families and local nonprofits that turn to them for help.
During this holiday season, donations to the Food Bank will be matched by a foundation partner, up to $100,000. You can donate to this important cause here.
Rainforest Connection (RFCx) creates acoustic monitoring systems for those who wish to end illegal deforestation in real-time. Our team is proud to have partnered with RFCx under our AI for Good initiative to help train machine learning models in support of its mission.
If you would like to donate to the Rainforest Connection, you can do so here.
